36 Weeks

36 weeks
Over 50% of twins are born before 36 weeks
My kids are comfy right where they're at...

So many wonderful things to be thankful for at this 36 week mark.

I'm still pregnant and these children of ours are continuing to gain weight
and grow stronger so they can come home with us.

I'm wrapping things up at the shop for my two month leave.

The 'honey do' list is dwindling to little odds and ends.

I'm registered at the hospital (this makes things feel so real).

The best news of all...
Ever since we've learned two nuggets were on the way, we've been crunching numbers, making decisions and praying for a door to open that would provide a little more financial assistance. I'll be honest, in the last 3 years we've experienced so many 'sightings' of God and His provisions. We may not always get the answers we're looking for, but we've always received answers and this time we're sitting here on the brink of parenthood saying "this is a total 'God thing'".

Jason has been working as a contractor for a well company. It's paid the bills for this family of two, but it wasn't where he wanted to stay and there was no upward advancement...not to mention a contractor is the first to go when cuts are being made.

About 3 years ago, Jason applied for a job at his ideal company. It's strictly IT, they have a huge internal source of growth, etc. but at the time they weren't hiring. They told him the typical HR mumbo jumbo of we'll keep your info on file. Blah blah.

3 weeks ago Jason received a call out of the blue from the HR department saying they have two positions open they wanted to interview him for. What?! His first interview went fantastic, they call him the next day and scheduled round 2. He was offered a position as an Engineer (most often promoted from within, but he's a rock star and given the opportunity)!

And get this...

The start date is April 20th, so he can be at home for
1 1/2 weeks with the babies after their born.

They offer tuition assistance and Jason has been wanting to go back to school.

They offer Child Care discounts.

It pays 25% more than what he's making now.

Yep....total 'God Thing'

I'm proud of his resilience, one of his strongest traits. It's such a huge relief knowing he's no longer a contractor and he's got a position in the company of his choice with serious potential to advance his career even further. What a provision and a relief for our family!

Tomorrow is another ultrasound day.
We'll find out their approximate weight and
they'll need to pass another bio-physical ultrasound as well.

Wow, God is good! That's awesome. Tell Jason congrats! A new job he likes, two new babies, wow, you guys have so much to be grateful for. I'm so thankful your babies are staying warm--all the more time for them to be healthy and like you said, be able to come home with you! I can't wait!
