14 weeks have come and gone...'warp speed ahead'. The more I think about these two little ones making an appearance in 5 1/2 months the more my heart races. In 5 1/2 short months I will be a mother of two....TWO babies. (Anyone have a paper bag I can breath into?)
Mothers of multiples don't get 9 months to prepare. We get an average of 36 weeks to let this all sink in and 'nest'. I need more nesting time! I want them to be here, yet at the same time I want a gestational period of an elephant. At least they get 21-23 months!
A close friend of my moms told me it takes a village to raise one child...well, bring on the army my friends. I face this new upcoming journey with anticipation, worry and excitement. These children...our children will change our lives completely. Every routine we have now will be tossed out the window. The gravity of responsibility and the fear of screwing up two lives that depend on me is huge.
For now...I leave you with the latest belly bump. As of this morning I have gained 4.5 pounds.
