Yesterday was our appointment with Dr. G. We had another ultrasound and it was so awesome because my parents were able to come along with us and experience it first hand. My dad who has never seen an ultrasound just sat there watching his grandbabes squirm around. The technician pointed out so mom and dad knew what they were looking at. Then she measured Wyatt and Evie to compare to four weeks ago. (Seriously...it's already been four weeks since we found out the sexes?). Crazy.
My parents headed out while Jason and I met with Dr. G. I was weighed and blood pressure was normal. Okay..I'm briefly going to discuss my shock over my weight. Here I am, weighing myself every morning on our bathroom scale and thinking, "I've gained 18 pounds". Not so, my dear friends. Apparently, I'm up 13 pounds. I've gained one pound in four weeks. Now, I'm pretty good as far as eating healthy...scratch that, I've been doing great. When my french dip sandwich was offered with fries, I asked for a side salad. I've had ONE donut in 6 months and fast food maybe 3 times. Instead of chips or other quick and easy snacks out of a box, I reach for fruit or veggies. (Yes, I cut up buckets of veggies and pack along spinach dip for snacks at work). I've wanted to indulge...trust me, but I figure whatever I put on I have to get off and I want my kids to have a taste for good healthy food. I eat constantly though...at least every 2-3 hours.
I had a lengthy conversation with Dr. G and asked if I should be concerned and he told me absolutely not. The kids are measuring right on track and that's all that matters. If the babies are growing the rate they should be, I shouldn't be concerned with the extra pounds I could be tracking. He's one of the best, so I just let it go. Needless to say, I have plans to break in to the doctors office and steal their scale...lol. Not really, I've just decided I won't weigh myself at home anymore.
Wyatt weighs 1 pound, 6 ounces
Evie weighs 1 pound, 3 ounces
Wyatt is still horizontal and curled into a tight ball, while his sister has decided to move from vertical to laying right over the top of her brother and she is stretched out taking up most the room. hmmmm....could she be showing signs of having a personality like her mother!?
Merry Christmas everyone! I'll post ultrasound pics and update you on the nursery progress in the next couple of days.

I'm confused...you're only up 13 pounds since you became pregnant?!?!? Holy crap, my Doc would be all over my ass for that! I'm up about 20 pounds, and my OB wants me to gain a little faster to put the weight on the babies. Ah well, I'm sure doctors have differing opinions on this, right? YAY for your parents to be able to come with you - I'm hoping that my mom and sister will be here for my next u/s. I hope you had a Merry Christmas!
